Soumya developed an interest for writing only in her late teens. But the passion transcended into a true affair once she started writing on her blogs and penning her own poetry books. She has published three poetry books and has been a contributor to several anthologies.
Soumya mostly writes inspirational, romantic and spiritual poems which reflect positivity and optimism. Her soul finds divinity in nature which is seen in her writings.

Life is a beautiful journey like a varicoloured spectrum which reflects different colours every time. Right from the beginning when a soul takes birth till the day it leaves the world, it is a continuous process of evolution for the mind, body and the soul.
We experience many such moments which fill us with joy and enthusiasm, but the fight for survival and the struggle to exist in the materialistic society as an achiever of superficial dreams always keeps us stressed and exhausted. As a result we are drained, deadened and we lead a lifeless life fighting against the inner conflicts.
The ever going conflict of the conscience and the brain leaves us in a confused state and we lose our link to the path of the ultimate happiness. The world has now become a place of endless chaos as we tend to lose our moral values and the essence of being human.
This strays us from the destined path and we get abandoned, only to get carried away with the worldly pleasures, aspirations which later turn ourselves into frustrated beings.
We move away from nature losing the zeal to move onto the eternal truth.
An urge to express the exact condition of a soul while it undergoes such instances arose where I felt there should be a book which speaks truly about ourselves ,our inner being and its suffering, not as a preacher or a teacher, but as a sufferer ,wanderer and seeker.
The journey of a soul since inception, till the time it realises its real purpose and destination is presented here in this book in form of short verses.
